President’s Message

This year we are celebrating our 11th year of Brampton Boat Race, on 21th of August 2021 in Brampton, Ontario. This is a much anticipated annual boat race in which many teams, both local and international teams, participate and vie for the coveted Canadian Nehru Trophy and the cash prize. There will be a Carnival atmosphere with a colorful water procession, and scintillating races. The event will also be watched on television and online by thousands across the world.

Brampton Malayalee Samajam is a non-profit, non-political, secular and cultural organization whose principal objective is that of preserving and maintaining the culture, language and heritage of Kerala, a state in southern India. Every year BMS celebrates various festivals.

Nehru Trophy Vallaumkali (Traditional Boat Race of Kerala) happens in Alappuzha, Kerala, India. According to NORKA officials, Brampton Boat Race is the largest Boat Race happening outside Kerala.
